The concept of Maddur Tiffanys restaurant was started in 1902. A small outlet was later converted into a canteen and established inside Maddur Railway Station under the name VRR Canteen (Vegetarian Refreshment Room).

The famous ‘Maddur Vada’ was born in 1917 and has a history of over 100 years. Initially a pakoda, its shape was later flattened to cook faster and efficiently manage the crowd.

Over the years, the canteen grew, and in 1991, a restaurant called ‘Maddur Tiffanys’ was opened—the first drive-in restaurant on the Bangalore-Mysore highway.
